Arthur Y. Whang

Arthur Whang represents clients in all facets of employment law, litigation, and advice and counseling. Arthur has represented clients of all sizes, from individuals to Fortune 100 companies, in a wide range of disputes involving issues of wrongful discharge, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, leave law, trade secrets, and wage and hour claims. Arthur has successfully, personally litigated numerous employment law cases in front of California’s courts and administrative agencies. Arthur also reviews and drafts employee handbooks, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and related documents. Arthur also has provided sexual harassment and other employee and executive trainings to numerous employers in the apparel, communications, pharmaceutical, and banking industries, among others. Prior to founding Whang Law Firm, Arthur was a founding partner at Kampf Whang, LLP, practicing employment law. Before that, Arthur practiced employment law and complex commercial litigation for large, national law firms.
Arthur is also a certified criminal trial lawyer, and has first-chaired several jury trials to successful verdicts in Los Angeles County’s criminal courts. Arthur received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Executive Director of the Barristers’ Council, Georgetown’s appellate and trial advocacy governing body. He also served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In his spare time, Arthur enjoys travel, reading, hiking, running, and cheering on the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers.
